Board of Trustees

Todays announcement is brought to you by the letter C!

COVID – while we are in a state of flux with the current lockdown – the Board encourages you to communicate with the school if you have concerns or difficulties with your sons on line learning, Because we have previous experience to draw on, the online model has been able to be implemented relatively quickly given the short notice period. As soon as school has information to share – it does so to assist with helping our school community and learners to make the most and best of this time.

COMMERCE – the school is preparing to update and upgrade it’s billing systems. It is deeply appreciated if you can keep your account current. We certainly understand that this can be difficult at times and strongly encourage you to actively engage and communicate with the school around this. Please contact the office to discuss options.

COMMUNITY – The Board wrote earlier in the year about it takes a village to raise a child and we continue to see that. As winter sports conclude and summer ones commence - coaches and manages will be required. Please consider how you can assist and support from helping your child be a valuable team member, to helping fund raise, to assisting on game day.

Thank you to the Community Association who are a vital link in so many ways – assisting with open night and supporting school events. Their meeting schedule is not onerous and a great way to connect and understand some of the inner workings of the school. Please consider contributing your time.

It is really important during these times that we are continuing to strengthen our sense of school community, so feel welcome to be reaching out for assistance and support as the year progresses and our boys enter exam season.

CONGRATULATIONS – where to begin! The school is certainly riding a positive wave at present. This didn’t just happen but has been the hard work of many - from classroom teachers, to cultural leaders and sport coaches. Academic targets are on track, so many of our sports teams topping their grades and a wonderful open evening showcasing the school. The Board is strongly encouraged by Waitakian culture emerging and assisting our inspiring young men.
