FAMILY SURVEY - DECILE RATING

Kia ora whanau,

The school is applying for a review of our decile rating. A schools decile rating is based upon a number of socio-economic factors (these include household income, occupation, household crowding, educational qualifications and income support) and we wish to establish if these have changed since the last applicable census data used to establish our current decile rating of 6 (which was in 2013). A schools decile rating affects its level of Government funding – the higher the decile (ratings are from 1 – 10) the less funding you receive and conversely the lower the decile rating the more funding you receive.

As part of our application for a review of our decile rating, we are asking that you complete a family survey that has been sent to you electronically via Microsoft Forms. Could you please complete the survey by Monday 14th September.

It is important that all families complete the survey so that we can give the Ministry of Education the full information they require in order for them to make an accurate decision regarding our decile rating.

Your responses are strictly anonymous. On Tuesday 15th September a file containing all the electronic responses will be sent to the Ministry. After analysing the data the Ministry will then delete this file.

We very much appreciate your support and ask once again that you complete the on-line survey by Monday 14th September.

SCRANO 2020

Due to the unfortunate events surrounding COVID-19 we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 SCRANO Cultural Evening. We are aware this is a highlight of the School calendar and look forward to next years competition.

OBHS Interschool cancelled for 2020

Unfortunately the traditional interschool fixture between Waitaki Boys' and Otago Boys' has been cancelled for 2020 due to the effect time spent out of class during the Covid -19 crisis has had on our school calendars. Both schools look forward to resuming this longstanding fixture again in 2021.
