Our community provides support for the boys’ learning, growth and development.

It is important to us that all students and staff feel safe, valued, cared for and respected as individuals.

We believe that your physical and emotional wellbeing is just as important as your academic success.

There are excellent systems to help any boys who may be having personal difficulties which hinder their ability to learn, participate and enjoy school. The Guidance Network Team, made up of the Deputy Rector, the Deans and our Guidance Counsellor, has overall responsibility for the welfare of students.Students have a legal right to confidentiality, unless there is an imminent risk to the student’s or another person’s safety.

When students or families require specialised care beyond the school's resources, we provide guidance on accessing additional support outside of the High School. These external supports are equipped to provide additional support and care for the emotional and psychological wellbeing of individuals and family groups, ensuring that all students receive the assistance they need.

A public health nurse who runs our health clinic every Monday during Period 4 & lunchtime is available to all our students and their whānau.

Wellbeing Time: (Period 5 on Friday)

This programme is dedicated to the wellbeing of our students. Wellbeing sessions will include, but not be limited to, workshops, speakers, peer support and activities to promote students’ sense of wellbeing and belonging. This is not a whole year programme as it will rotate with other school activities each Term depending on the school focus such as SCRANO in Term 2, EXAMS in Term 3 and 4 etc. Wellbeing will run in Term 1 each year in order to foster positive relationships between students and staff and develop a feeling of brotherhood among the boys.
