Waitaki Boys' is committed to meeting the needs of all our learners. We recognise that our students are individuals, who process information in different ways, and who have different learning needs.
Our Learning Support Department supports students with a range of particular needs, to ensure every student gets what he needs in order to be successful at Waitaki Boys’ High School.
These supports can range from modified learning programs, Teacher Aide in-class support, Ministry of Education applications, assistive technology support, special assessment conditions, specialised co-ordination across teaching staff and pastoral teams, and co-ordination with community agencies.
We build on student strengths and work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, whānau, deans, class teachers, counsellors, Learning Support Coordinators, Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour (RTLB), and external agencies.
